Chelsea’s hope of landing German international central defender Mats Hummel might not come to reality following the denial by his representative of holding any talks with the West London side as reported in the English press.

The German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich central defender is no longer a favourite in the team which has sparked speculations that he would be leaving anytime soon.

However, the Blues are keen to secure the signature of the former Borussia Dortmund central defender so as to challenge for the top four spot throughout the second half of the season.

The West London side were believed to have beaten their North London rivals Tottenham for Mats Hummel but there are fears they will also miss out with his representative already dismissing reports of speculations.

Although he is no longer a major player in the Bayern Munich team, Mats Hummel is known to be of great quality and big experience having played at a top level and will be a good addition to the Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea will be left with no option than to turn attention to other targets if the world of Mats Hummel’s agent Marc Kosicke will be taken seriously by the West Londoners.
