It has been reported that English Premier League side Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has officially requested the West London club to land German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich central defender Mats Hummels ahead of the January transfer window.

This is according to reports from The Express which confirms the speculations that the Italian boss is keen on the signature of the experienced central defender.

However, the West London side have been told by the German outfit that they will have to pay about £30 million to be able to secure the signature of the star player and the Blues were also handed a deadline of January 14 to submit the offer or risk losing out on the player.

The German international is no longer a regular at the Bundesliga outfit which makes him available for a move elsewhere with the Blues interested in his service at the Stamford Bridge.

Sarri is set to lose Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen in January because of their lack of playing time which makes a replacement for them very important and urgent.

The West London side are currently sitting in fourth position and they are keen to replace the position knowing that they have got Arsenal to contend with.
