Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are reported to have joined English Premier League leaders Liverpool in the pursuit of RB Leipzig Timo Werner in a bid to have his signature in the winter transfer window.

The Spanish outfit are desperate for an addition in the attack and have now turned their attention to the Germany international forward who has been impressive so far this season.

Reports claim that Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is willing to do all it takes to land the star player ahead of Liverpool and other suitors including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Man United.

This season alone, Timo Werner has had 20 games under his belt and has been able to score 11 goals in total across all competition which makes him a good player of great quality.

The German international has got a contract running with the Bundesliga outfit until 2020 with a release clause of about £60 million which would be easy for the Spanish side to meet.

However, the battle for Timo Werner is expected to be between Liverpool and Barcelona but the Spanish side have been tipped to win the race with manager Jurgen Klopp already hinting that he might not have any additions in the winter window.
