Experienced journalist Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph has revealed that there is no argument between Arsenal and London rivals Chelsea for the transfer of defender Gary Cahill when the January transfer window reopens.
He made this known via his official Twitter handle as he also added that the player has not agreed on a deal to join the Gunners.
Earlier reports emanating from the Italian media had claimed that the recently retired England international centre back will join Arsenal in the January transfer market and that there’s an agreement in place to that effect.
Gary Cahill has just six months remaining on his current contract with the Blues promoting talks of a move away from the club.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has already told club skipper Cahill that he can leave the Blues to join any club as he tries to get more playing time under his belt.
Gary Cahill has not been able to command a starting XI spot at Chelsea since Italian tactician Sarri became manager in the summer.
Manchester United and Aston Villa are also keen on a move for the 33-year-old defender.
Arsenal are in need of defensive reinforcements following the long-term injury to young English defender Rob Holding.
