Houssem Aouar

The contest between English Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool seem to be going beyond the league table but playing out in the winter transfer market.

Latest reports claim that the Premier League defending champions are ready to make an offer for Liverpool long-term target Houssem Aouar in the coming winter transfer window after already making enquiries for his availability.

Houssem Aouar has impressed since breaking into the first team of his side which attracted big European sides like Man City and Liverpool to come knocking for his signature.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was earlier reported to be willing to do all it takes to land the 20-year-old at the Merseyside club but he could now miss out with the emergence of the Citizens in the race.

City are reported to be preparing a bid of £54 million to secure the signature of the player who is being loved by manager Pep Guardiola?

The Spanish boss had showered praise on Houssem Aouar, stating that he is always very calm with the ball and having incredible technical quality with his young age.

However, it is unsure if the Citizens will be able to succeed in convincing Lyon for the service of Houssem Aouar as soon as in the coming winter window.
