West London side Chelsea have been cleared to sign German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund star winger Christian Pulisic in the coming winter transfer window.

This is after Liverpool were ruled out of the race following the dismissal of claims that they have submitted £52 million bid for the American international.

This, therefore, raises suggestions that manager Maurizio Sarri could finally land Christian Pulisic without any serious contest from other suitors.

According to a German publication Bild, the West London outfit have verbally agreed to a £45m deal with the player with former Fulham striker Eddi Johnson confirming the move on social media.

Christian Pulisic’s contract with the German Bundesliga outfit will run out at the end of the coming season and he is reported to be considering a move away with no negotiation on the table for a new deal with the club.

Suggestions are that he will join the Stamford Bridge to serve as a replacement for Belgium international Eden Hazard who is already close to the exit door of the Blues side.

Eden Hazard has refused to sign a new deal with the West London club and has been alleged to be heading to Spanish giants Real Madrid at the end of the season.
