Three-time European champions Manchester United will have to see off Premier League competition in the race to sign highly-rated FC Porto defender Eder Militao.
The Brazilian utility player has emerged as a defensive transfer target for the Red Devils in recent weeks.
The Daily Express claim that Red Devils’ rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have joined the race to sign Eder Militao.
The 20-year-old has done well for FC Porto since he joined the Portuguese Super League champions from Brazilian Serie A side Sao Paulo in the summer.
Eder Militao has figured prominently for FC Porto in their rise to the top of the league table in Portugal’s top division.
He also contributed his quota to the FC Porto team that finished with the most points at the end of the Champions League group stage campaign earlier this year.
The former Champions League winners finished top of their group with 16 points and they have been drawn against Italian Serie A giants AS Roma.
Roma were the surprise team in last season’s competition as they reached the semifinals before they were knocked out by Premier League table toppers.
Eder Militao is a talented player who can play as a defensive midfielder, a centre back or as a right-back.
