Arsenal have it all to do in the race to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar following the news that Premier League title rivals Manchester City are on the verge of submitting a £54m (€60m) bid for him.
Houssem Aouar is one of the most exciting young players in European football.
The 20-year-old has impressed a great deal for Lyon since he became a regular fixture in the first team of the French Ligue 1 club.
Houssem Aouar broke into the Lyon first team in February 2017 and he has not looked back since then.
Italian media outlet Calciomercato was the source that made the Manchester City bid a public knowledge.
It was revealed that the Citizens are hoping to usurp other interested parties like Arsenal, Liverpool and Cheese in the race to sign the midfielder.
Aouar had earlier drawn the praise of Pep Guardiola after the young Frenchman shone against his Manchester City side in the Champions League.
It was in his post-match press conference after Lyon and Manchester City played out a 2-2 draw at the Groupama Stadium in France.
Houssem Aouar was also impressive in the first Champions League meeting between the two sides this season which ended in a stunning 2-1 win for visitors Lyon at the Etihad Stadium.
