Arsenal transfer target Fernando Calero has sparked rumours of a move to the Gunners after he posted an image from London Waterloo from his official Instagram handle as reported by the Metro.

Fernando Calero has emerged as the number one defensive target for the Gunners in recent weeks as manager Unai Emery tries to ease the injury crisis rocking his defence.

Calero plays his club football for newly promoted Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid.

The 23-year-old has been a key performer for Real Valladolid in the Spanish top flight this season.

The Spaniard was played every minute of this league season and has helped the club to 12th spot on the table.

Real Valladolid are just four points off the European places on the Spanish La Liga table with one of the best defensive records in the league.

They lowly Spanish club has conceded as many goals as European heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Fernando Calero could be a direct replacement for the injured Rob Holding.

Young English defender Rob Holding has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he sustained a serious knee injury earlier this month.

Fernando Calero has a release clause of €11m (£10m) in his contract at Real Valladolid.
