Premier League giants Arsenal are ready to bid for Atlanta United star Miguel Almiron in the January transfer window as they try to sign a direct replacement for wantaway Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Daily Express claim that the Gunners will have a free run at the Paraguayan international midfielder after their competitor Newcastle United were blow out of the waters with the player’s wage demands.

Miguel Almiron, 24, is said to be holding out for wages of £5m on a yearly basis thus making it impossible for cash-strap Newcastle United to sign him.

The 12-cap Paraguayan player was in sensational form for Atlanta United in the just concluded Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

He was a major part of the Atlanta United team that won the MLS Cup at the end of last season.

His MLS form has attracted the interests of Premier League sides like Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Miguel Almiron could replace the aforementioned Ramsey at the Emirates Stadium.

Welsh international playmaker Ramsey is on his way out of the Emirates Stadium after the club failed to hand him a contract extension.

He has six months left on his current Arsenal contract but senior officials have decided not to give the Welshman a new contract.
