North London giants Arsenal have been quoted the asking price for reported target Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the in-form Ivorian international forward and they have found out that they will need to splash as much as €80m to prise him away from his club.

Nicolas Pepe is on the payroll of French Ligue 1 side Lille at the moment.

The €80m asking price was revealed by Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos in an interview with French media publication Telefoot via Teamtalk.

Nicolas Pepe has been attracting the interests of several European sides including Arsenal following his good form for Lille for the better part of the last two years.

The 23-year-old played a major role as Lille escaped relegation from French Ligue 1 at the end of last season.

His goal contributions have propelled Lille to the Champions League places this season.

He has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 19 games in the league this term.

Earlier reports had claimed that the Gunners will need just €50m to sign him only for them to discover that it would potentially be more than that.

Nicolas Pepe is said to be the Gunners’ first choice in the to boost their forward options ahead of the second half of the season.
