Italian Serie A side Atalanta have reportedly set an asking price for one of the Gunners’ defensive targets ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of next month.

Italian centre-back Gianluca Mancini has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal following his impressive showings for Atalanta this season.

He has led Atalanta to the top six on the Italian Serie A table.

Gianluca Mancini is attracting interests from several European clubs on the back of his defensive performances for Atalanta this season.

Scouts from fellow Italian side Inter Milan and German Bundesliga table-toppers Borussia Dortmund have already watched him in action for Atalanta in the new campaign.

Italian media outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport via gunnersphere claim that Atalanta have already set an asking price for the 22-year-old.

It was revealed that the Italians are not ready to do any deal if the transfer fee is not at least £18m.

Atalanta are in a good position as the player’s current contract at the club does not expire until 2023.

The said asking price would be suitable for an Arsenal side in need of quality defensive reinforcements after a disappointing start to the season defensively.

Arsenal have already conceded 23 goals in just 17 Premier League games.
