North London giants Arsenal suffered a shock loss in the Premier League at the weekend following the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.

The defeat ensured that the Gunners fell further behind the leading pack in addition to ending their 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Southampton goalscorers Danny Ings (2) and Charlie Austin were able to expose the Arsenal backline whose lack of a leader figure was obvious despite the return of the Gunners skipper Laurent Koscielny.

The 33-year-old was making his first start in the Premier League since he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the Europa League semi-final meeting with Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in May.

Arsenal have been linked with a player that can bridge the leadership gap in the Gunners defence.

RB Leipzig centre back Willi Orban has been touted as a potential signing for the North Londoners.

Orban, rated at £13.5m, has been in very good form for an RB Leipzig team that’s in the fight for a top four spot at the end of this German Bundesliga season.

The recently capped Hungarian international defender has 2.1 tackles per game, 1.6 interceptions per game and 4.9 aerial duels per game in the German Bundesliga this term.
