Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is not close to signing a new contract at the club according to his agent.
Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, revealed that his client is still a long way away from signing a contract extension at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are desperate for the French international player to sign a new deal amidst interests from other clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
The three aforementioned clubs are monitoring his situation at Manchester United.
Anthony Martial initially had six months left on his current contract with Manchester United but the Red Devils have activated the extra year clause in his deal thus taking him to the end of the 2019/20 season at the club.
Lamboley confirmed that they have received several contract offers from Manchester United before adding that they were a long way from their expectations.
Manchester United risk losing the player for free at the end of next season if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract.
The Red Devils might be forced to sell the player at the end of this season to avoid the risk of losing him for free in 2020.
This is in the event that both parties are unable to reach an agreement over a new contract.
Anthony Martial has been the best player at Manchester United this season.
He has scored seven goals in his last ten games in the Premier League.
