Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has revealed the details of his meeting with Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho shortly before he sealed his transfer to French Ligue 1 giant Lyon in 2017.
The Dutch international star talked about the Manchester United manager in an interview with The Times as reported by Metro.
Memphis revealed that his relationship with Mourinho is good and that he told the Portuguese tactician that he will see him at the top again.
According to him, Mourinho said that he hopes Manchester United will be able to buy him back in the future.
Manchester United signed Depay from Dutch Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven in a £25m deal in the summer of 2015.
Memphis Depay was labelled the new Cristiano Ronaldo and was handed the iconic no.7 jersey but he failed to live up to the expectations.
The Dutchman was a flop at the club before he was put out of his Manchester United misery when French giants Lyon signed him in 2017.
Memphis Depay has been able to resurrect his career at Lyon and has already been linked with a return to Manchester United as a result of his impressive form in France.
