Former Europa League winners Sevilla have joined the keenly contested race for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start in few weeks time.

Denis Suarez, 24, has been the subject of attention from several European clubs following his lack of game time with the Blaugrana.

The Spaniard has been restricted to just six appearances in all competitions this season.

His last appearance came in the Champions League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

The Spanish international player came on as a second half substitute for goalscorer Ousmane Dembele who had given the Catalans the lead in the first half.

Barcelona were unable to hold on as Lucas Moura came off the Tottenham Hotspur bench to salvage a crucial 1-1 draw for his side with an 85th minute equaliser.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that La Liga giants Sevilla are also interested in a move for the in-demand midfielder.

Sevilla have joined other potential suitors like Arsenal, Napoli, Valencia, AC Milan and Chelsea in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Denis Suarez is no stranger to Sevilla after he spent the 2014/15 season on loan at the Ramon Pizjuan Stadium.

He scored two league goals in 31 appearances for Sevilla during his time at the club.
