Manchester United midfielder Juan Manuel Mata has revealed that he wants to stay at the club despite the transfer reports about his long-term future at the club.
Mata has just six months left on his present contract with the Red Devils and that has led to rumours about his future at Old Trafford.
The Spanish international playmaker talked about his desire to stay at Manchester United in a recent interview monitored by the Daily Star.
Mata further revealed that he’s happy at the club.
He joined Manchester United from rivals Chelsea in January 2014 in a deal reported to be around £37.1m.
The Spaniard was the second signing of the brief Manchester United managerial dispensation of David Moyes.
Mata has failed to secure a permanent starting XI spot under current boss Jose Mourinho.
He has started just seven Premier League games.
The former Valencia star has scored three goals and provided two assists in the colours of the Red Devils this season in all competitions.
He has been linked with a free transfer move to several European clubs at the end of his current Manchester United contract next summer.
Juan Manuel Mata has been touted as a potential free transfer signing for European sides such as Arsenal and Real Madrid.
