Manchester United have received a big boost in their pursuit of highly rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele after the player revealed that he’s open to a move away from his French Ligue 1 club.
Ndombele, 20, said this in a chat with Canal Football club while also revealing that he came close to leaving Lyon earlier in the year during the last transfer window of 2018.
The young French midfielder has been a permanent fixture in the Lyon team under manager Bruno Genesio since he returned to the French Ligue 1 giants from a loan spell.
Ndombele was impressive while he was on loan at fellow French top flight side SC Amiens in the last campaign.
It was revealed that Premier League champions Manchester City had a €50m bid rejected by Lyon in the summer in their bid to sign Tanguy Ndombele.
Latest reports coming out of France claim that Manchester United are very serious about signing the midfielder and are unfazed by the €90m transfer fee slapped on him by Lyon.
Apart from the Manchester clubs, Premier League sides like Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on a move for the French international player.
Ndombele recently became a full international when he made his France debut against Iceland in an international friendly.
