French Ligue 1 giants Marseille are reportedly eyeing a transfer for experienced Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal ahead of the upcoming transfer market scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
This is according to the publication from respected French media platform France Football.
It was revealed that the 2018 Europa League finalists are on the search for a new left-back to complement Jordan Amavi and that they have identified Spanish international player Monreal as a possible signing.
Marseille are also interested in a transfer for another Premier League left-back.
The previously mentioned report also confirmed that the 1993 Champions League winners are weighing up a move for Liverpool Alberto Moreno.
The 26-year-old has lost his starting place in the Liverpool first team following the emergence of Scottish international captain Andy Robertson last season.
Nacho Monreal has been a mainstay of the Arsenal since he joined the club from Malaga in January 2013.
He has scored seven times in 170 appearances in the Premier League.
Monreal, 31, was part of the Arsenal team that won three FA Cup titles in four seasons under the guidance of former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
He has not featured as much as he would have liked this season and it’s mainly due to a troublesome hamstring injury.
