2018 Europa League finalists Marseille are plotting a move for Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno ahead of the mid-season transfer window scheduled to start in the next few weeks.
Alberto Moreno has been on the outskirts of the Liverpool team thereby leading to transfer talks about his long-term future at the club.
The 26-year-old has six months remaining on the five-year contract that he signed when he joined the club from Spanish La Liga giants Sevilla.
The Reds paid around £12m to sign the Sevilla Academy graduate.
He was the first choice left-back in his early days at Liverpool before things went downhill for the Spanish international defender.
Moreno initially lost his place to utility player James Milner before the emergence of Scottish international captain Andy Robertson as the regular first choice left-back in the last campaign.
Robertson joined Liverpool from relegated Hull City at the start of last season.
French giants Marseille lost 2-0 to eventual champions Atletico Madrid in the final of the 2018 Europa League in May and they would be hoping to go one better in this season’s edition of the competition.
The French giants want to boost their squad with quality signings like Alberto Moreno.
Apart from Marseille, Arsenal and Barcelona are also keen on signing him.
