Premier League side Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign highly-rated Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo ahead of the January transfer window.
Junior Firpo has emerged as one of the best left-backs in the Spanish La Liga this season.
The Dominican defender has been in good form for his Seville-based side in both the Spanish top flight this season and the Europa League.
His high point of the season came during the win away to Spanish La Liga leaders Barcelona.
He was on target for Real Betis who surprised many by beating Barcelona 4-3 at the Nou Camp.
Real Betis manager Quique Setien has already stated that the player won’t leave the club for a transfer fee below the £45m release clause in his contract that runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Crystal Palace might not be able to afford the transfer fee for Junior Firpo but other interested clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City can conveniently come up with the financial figure required for his transfer.
Arsenal are in the market for a new left-back with doubts over first choice Nacho Monreal who has been out of action for the better part of the last two months.
