French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have emerged as favourites to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
The French giants are the bookmakers’ favourites to sign the retired German international playmaker.
According to Alex Apati of Ladbrokes, PSG are ahead of Juventus, Bayern Munich and others in the race to sign the 30-year-old.
PSG are at the odds of 7/4 to sign former Real Madrid and Schalke 04 star Ozil ahead of Juventus (9/4), Bayern Munich (5/1), Chelsea (4/1) and Manchester United (6/1).
Mesut Ozil has not had the best of times since new Arsenal manager Unai Emery took charge of the team in the summer.
Spanish tactician Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger after the Frenchman resigned from his job at the end of last season.
Unlike what was obtainable under Wenger, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has shown that no player is guaranteed a starting berth in his team.
He was surprisingly dropped for the recent game against Bournemouth before missing the Derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend with a questionable back injury.
Mesut Ozil is said to have grown uneasy with his situation under Unai Emery and he could leave Arsenal at the end of this season.
He signed a three-year contract extension in February to take him to the end of the 2020/21 season.
