North London giants Arsenal have concluded plans to spend at least £44.5m on AS Roma forward Cengiz Under according to Sportsmole.
It was revealed that Gunners scouts were in attendance while the player was in action for AS Roma in the 2-2 draw at home to rivals Inter Milan in their Italian Serie A clash on Sunday night.
Cengiz Under was on target for his side before he made way for Javier Pastore in the 83rd minute.
The Turkish international star cancelled out Keita Bobo Balde’s opener in the first half in the 51st minute before Inter Milan regained the lead courtesy the 66th-minute strike from striker Mauro Icardi.
Aleksandar Kolarov rescued a point for the hosts from the penalty spot with sixteen minutes left on the clock.
Cengiz Under has been strongly linked with the Gunners in the last few weeks and Gazzetta Dello Sports journalist Nicolo Schira claim that Roma sporting director Monchi will only sanction his sale if a big bid comes in for him.
Arsenal are in need of reinforcements in the forward areas following the ankle injury to Danny Welbeck shortly before the last international break.
He’s expected to miss the rest of the season with the injury.
