Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil was left out of the Gunners’ last league game against Bournemouth to further accelerate transfer rumours about his future at the Emirates Stadium.
Earlier reports had claimed that he could reunite with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Mesut Ozil played for the Portuguese tactician while he was the Real Madrid boss at the start of this decade.
The retired German international playmaker is said to be considering his transfer options ahead of next summer after failing to really settle under the managerial regime of Unai Emery.
The 30-year-old signed a new three-year contract in February to take him until 2021.
His new contract made him the highest paid player in the history of Arsenal with a weekly salary of around £350,000.
Ozil could, however, leave Arsenal with just two-thirds of the new contract sell remaining if the report from The Sun is anything to go by.
It was revealed that Italian Serie A side Inter Milan could be a possible destination for him if he decides to end his six-year stay with the Gunners.
Alongside Manchester United, the Nerazzurri were also linked with a move for the 2014 World Cup winner before he committed his future to Arsenal earlier this year.
