There are fears that Chelsea might lose one of its best defenders this season with Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona not giving up on the pursuit of Brazilian central defender David Luiz.
The La Liga side have shown interests in the player over time but despite the hint given to them by the West London side that he will not be available, they are reported to be bent on preparing a bid for him.
It is therefore stated that the Blues will receive a luring offer from Barcelona ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks, according to reports from BBC.
It was a bad last season for the former PSG player as he was not favoured under former manager Antonio Conte but that has since changed with the David Luiz discovering his form again under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
However, the report says the Spanish side are bent on mounting the pressure on the London side in a bid to have the 31-year-old sold.
Meanwhile, the contract of the central defender with the Blues expires at the end of the season and it is not unclear if he will be handed a new deal with time already ticking without any negotiation on the table so far.
