Ajax name new price for de Jong amidst Liverpool interest

English Premier League giants Liverpool have not made their interest in Ajax star midfielder Frenkie de Jong hidden with the Eredivisie giants already aware of the interest to have names a price for the player.

Liverpool had been long-term suitors of Frenkie de Jong but it seems it could be time for a move having known that the sum of £40 million will have to be paid to have the service of the highly rated midfielder.

The Anfield side are battling with the poor form of Lallana as well as the injury of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and are nursing the hope that they could have Frenkie de Jong come in to provide the creative solution at the middle.

Liverpool are believed to have beaten the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Spanish giants Barcelona who are also interested in his signature.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp will be happy to have the player for whatsoever amount as long as the deal can be sanctioned.

In his 18 appearances this season, he has been able to have a goal to his belt as well as an assist.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are only desperate to win a title this season and will be ready to do anything possible to achieve that.
