Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has backed new manager Unai Emery to make a club-record bid for a player at the end of this season.
The footballer turned pundit spoke about the Spanish tactician and his potential move in the transfer market while he was talking about his decision to drop star player Mesut Ozil on The Debate.
Paul Merson further added that Unai Emery won’t come under pressure for dropping Ozil in the last game against South Coast club Bournemouth and that the Spaniard will face the heat when he drops a player that he spent a club-record fee of £60m on.
Retired German international playmaker Ozil was dropped for the away game against in the Premier League and it has the desired effect as the Gunners ended a run of three successive league draws to record a 2-1 victory.

The home side equalised through Joshua King on the stroke of halftime but it was the Gunners who took the initiative in the second half.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the second half to give Arsenal a 2-1 win.
