Sources close to popular media portal ESPN have revealed that Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has not asked to leave the club in the next transfer window.
This is a stark contrast to earlier reports which claimed that the French international player asked for a transfer as he’s frustrated with life under Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde.
The 21-year-old has endured some disciplinary issues at Barcelona this season.
He has been linked with a move to the Premier League despite the fact that he just sealed a big money move to Barcelona last summer.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in his services though it was revealed that Barcelona could use the player to tempt Paris Saint Germain (PSG) into parting ways with star forward Neymar.
Ousmane Dembele is the direct replacement for Neymar who left the Spanish La Liga giants last summer in a world record deal worth €220m (£200m).
2018 FIFA World Cup winner Dembele signed for Barcelona as Neymar’s replacement after the Catalan outfit agreed to a sensational transfer fee with German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
Barcelona paid an initial fee of €105m for the former Rennes player plus an additional fee of €35m which is based on add-ons.
