Man United Step Up Interest For 19-year-old Defender

Three-time European champions Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in highly rated West Ham United defender Declan Rice.
According to the publication from popular media outlet Metro, Red Devils sent scouts to watch him in action for the Hammers in their home Premier League clash with champions Manchester City at the Olympic Stadium in London on Saturday evening.
Declan Rice played the entire duration of the game but he was unable to stop his West Ham United side from being thrashed 4-0 by the Citizens.
Manchester City raced into a three-goal lead in the first half hour through goals from David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane before German international winger Sane wrapped up the victory with his second goal on the stroke of full-time.
Declan Rice, 19, has been at the centre of a contract standoff with West Ham United.
He has less than two years left on his current contract with the Hammers but the Englishman has so far rejected the contract offer from the club.
His long-term future at West Ham United is seriously in doubt as a result thus prompting interests from clubs like London rivals Chelsea and the aforementioned Manchester United.
He was a Chelsea Academy player before he left the club at the age of 14.
