Source claim Mourinho will boost his squad with this ever-present midfielder

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from January 1.
Sources close to trusted media outlet ESPN claim that the Portuguese tactician wants to boost his squad with the addition of the Belgian international star.
Axel Witsel was recently part of the Belgium squad that finished third at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
The 29-year-old was an ever-present in the Red Devils’ midfield at the tournament.
The former Zenit St. Petersburg player moved from Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjin to German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer shortly after the World Cup.
The Bundesliga leaders reportedly paid around €20m to secure his signing and Witsel went on to put pen to paper on a four-year deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The report from the ESPN further revealed that Manchester United and Jose Mourinho might have to wait until the summer despite the fact that the club has given the manager a £100m transfer kitty ahead of the upcoming transfer window in the next few weeks.
Axel Witsel would most certainly be a fantastic addition to an ailing Manchester United team.
