Juan Mata Set To Sign New Man United Contract

Arsenal have been handed a big blow in their chase for Manchester United playmaker Juan Manuel Mata following the news that he’s on the verge of signing a contract extension at Old Trafford.
According to the report from a trusted English media platform Daily Mirror, the Spanish international player is close to signing a new Manchester United contract.
It was revealed that the 30-year-old will put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Manchester United keen to ward off rumoured interests from clubs like Premier League top four rivals Arsenal and Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
The Gunners have been heavily touted as his next transfer destination due to his close ties with the new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
Juan Manuel Mata played for Unai Emery while he was the manager of Spanish side Valencia.
They worked together for three years at the Mestalla before Mata signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2011.
The Spaniard spent almost three years with the Blues before then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho sold him to Manchester United in January 2014 in a deal worth £37.1m.
Juan Manuel Mata has scored 42 goals and provided 34 assists in 200 appearances since his move to the Theatre of Dreams.
