Premier League giants Manchester United might have missed out on a reunion with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic following the news that Italian Serie A side AC Milan have agreed on a deal with him.
According to the publication from trusted Italian media platform Gazzetta Dello Sport, the seven-time European champions have agreed to terms with the 37-year-old year.
It was revealed that AC Milan and Ibrahimovic have agreed to a six-month contract with the option of an additional year.
The short-term contract is said to be worth $2.2m.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is presently on the books of Major League Soccer (MLS) side LA Galaxy.
Seven-time European champions AC Milan are one of his numerous former clubs.
He won the Italian Serie A title during his time at the club.
The retired Swedish international striker has been linked with a return to Manchester United but it seems like AC Milan will pip the Red Devils to his signing.
Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United on a free transfer from French side Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the summer of 2016.
He won the Community Shield, Carabao Cup and the Europa League titles in his first season at the club.
The former Ajax Amsterdam and Juventus player left Old Trafford for LA Galaxy in March.
