The agent of highly rated Italian international midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini has dismissed transfer reports linking his client with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Giampiero Pocetta spoke about the 22-year-old in an interview with popular Italian news outlet Corriere Dello Sport via 101greatgoals.
He revealed that the player’s focus is on how to improve for his Italian club rather than a possible transfer to the Premier League with the Red Devils.
Lorenzo Pellegrini has been an integral part of the AS Roma team since he joined the club from fellow Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.
He signed for the Champions League campaigners during last summer’s transfer window.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from January 1.
He has a €30m release clause in his AS Roma contract which the Premier League side won’t mind paying.
Manchester United are also interested in doubling his current salary at AS Roma.
Pellegrini earns one million euro on a yearly basis at the Stadio Olimpico.
Since joining the club in 2017, Lorenzo Pellegrini has scored five goals and provided ten assists in all competitions.
