Premier League giants Manchester United have reignited their interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
According to the publication from trusted transfer news portal CaughtOffside, the Reds Devils are ready to make a bid for him again when the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United pushed to sign him in the summer but the three-time European champions were foiled in their attempt to sign him in the summer.
Jose Mourinho and Manchester United failed to sign the Belgian international centre-back after Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy requested for £60m from them for the 29-year-old as reported by the London Evening Standard.
Alderweireld currently has less than a year left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract though the North London club can invoke the clause of an additional year in the said contract.
It was revealed that Jose Mourinho was in attendance to run the rule over Toby Alderweireld while he was in action for Belgium in their 2-0 win over Iceland in a UEFA Nations League clash on Thursday night.
In other news, Michy Batshuayi was on target twice in the second half to give the Belgian team a third win from as many games in Group two of League A.
