Merseyside club Everton have reportedly begun transfer talks with Manchester United in their quest to sign one of their defenders when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
According to the Metro, the Toffees want to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo from the club as manager Marco Silva attempts to boost his squad with quality signings in January.
Marcos Rojo had put pen to paper on a contract extension earlier this year but he has not been able to feature for the Red Devils in the new season.
The 28-year-old returned from the World Cup tournament in the summer with an injury which kept him out of action until last month.

Rojo was part of the 23-man Argentina squad that failed to live up to expectations at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament after they crashed out of the first knockout stage following the 4-2 loss to eventual champions France in their last 16 matches.
He had earlier scored the goal that took Argentina to the knockout stage in a 2-1 win over Nigeria in Group D.
Everton have already been linked with another Manchester United player before the Rojo links surfaced.
The Merseysiders were linked with a possible move for Chris Smalling.
