Manchester United are in the transfer market for a new centre-back as manager Jose Mourinho tries to provide a lasting solution to the Red Devils’ defensive woes this season.
One candidate to do the job required by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is highly rated Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake who has been in scintillating form for the Cherries in the new Premier League campaign.
According to popular English news outlet The Sun, Manchester United are interested in a move for the Dutch international.
It was further revealed that the Red Devils will have to fend off the interest of Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in the race for Nathan Ake.
Ake was previously at Chelsea before he joined Bournemouth on loan at the start of the 2016/17 season.
The centre back impressed a great deal while he was in his first spell with the Cherries.
The Dutchman spent the first half of the 2016/17 at the Vitality Stadium before he was called back from the loan deal in January 2017.
He turned the move to a permanent one last summer after South Coast club Bournemouth paid £20m for him.
It could take up to £40m to prise him away from Bournemouth though the report mentioned above already claimed that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is already searching for a replacement for the talented player.
