Arsenal are reportedly in line to do a swap deal with Italian Serie A giants AS Roma when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
According to a specific publication from trusted Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport via the Daily Mirror, the Gunners are interested in a move for AS Roma striker Patrik Schick and that the Italian capital club will ask for one of the Gunners’ players.
The Premier League title contenders are in the market for a forward and they have identified Czech Republic international Schick as a potential transfer target.
According to the aforementioned report, AS Roma will ask for midfielder Aaron Ramsey to be a part of the deal.
Ramsey is on his way out of Arsenal following the club’s decision to withdraw their contract offer to him.
The Arsenal need for a forward was boosted by the unfortunate injury to Danny Welbeck.
The England international forward sustained a serious injury to his right ankle in the first half of the Gunners’ Europa League meeting with Sporting Lisbon FC of Portugal on Thursday night.
The game which was played at the Emirates Stadium ended in a goalless draw.
The result was enough to secure the Gunners’ place in the last 32 of the Europa League.
