Premier League giants Arsenal have been linked with a move for highly-rated striker Patrik Schick ahead of the transfer window in the New Year.

Patrick Schick plays his club football with Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

The transfer links to Arsenal have surfaced following the injury to Gunners forward Danny Welbeck.

The young Czech Republic international has been touted as a possible loan replacement for the injured Welbeck.

The 22-year-old has struggled to break into the Roma starting XI since his transfer from fellow Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.

The Italian capital club won’t mind the idea of a loan move to the Premier League for the player.

The Gunners are in the market for a replacement for Welbeck and the club could be open to the idea of a temporary solution that would suffice between now and the end of the season.

Danny Welbeck suffered a season-ending injury during the Gunners’ Europa League game with Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The former Sunderland and Manchester United star sustained a right knee injury while trying to reach across from Swiss international right-back in the first half of the encounter which ended in a goalless draw
