Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has played down reports that he is on his way out of Stamford Bridge by affirming that he is enjoying life at the Stamford Bridge.

Kovacic who was responding to newsmen stated that reports of leaving the West London club was too early to talk about as he still has a running contract with the club.

The former Real Madrid player has since become a major part of the Chelsea team having joined in the summer on a loan spell for his failure to stay put in the Los Blancos team.

The Croatia international noted that the competitive nature of the Premier League is what delights him most of his stay with the Blues as he has helped the club sit second place with two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

There are already fears of the player returning to Madrid early after impressing with Chelsea but he said there is no need to worry as he intends to complete his loan deal with the club.

However, he is uncertain if he will stay beyond the one-year loan period because he would prefer a return back to the Bernabeu where he feels he can return straight into Madrid’s first team.
