Milan Skriniar

Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of highly rated Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar following the news that the Italian Serie A giants have slapped a hefty transfer fee on him.

According to the report from the Daily Star via theweek, the Premier League giants will have to break their transfer record to sign the 23-year-old centre back.

France World Cup winner Paul Pogba is the Red Devils’ record transfer purchase after Manchester United paid £89m to secure his return from Italian champions Juventus.

Manchester United will have to part with more in a bid to sign the Slovakian international star.

The club has made him their no. 1 transfer target as they bid to shore up their defence.

Manchester United have been very poor defensively in the new Premier League season.

They have conceded 17 goals already in just 11 league games in addition to the fact that they have only kept one clean sheet all season.

Their one and only clean sheet came during the 2-0 win over Burnley in a Matchday 4 clash played at the Turf Moor.

Manager Jose Mourinho has prioritise the signing of a new centre back in the next transfer window in a bid to fix the problem.
