The Red Devils have joined other European heavyweights in the fight for the Danish junior international centre back.
The Italian duo of Inter Milan and Juventus as well as Premier League rivals Arsenal are said to be interested in Joachim Andersen.
It could take at least €30m to prise him away from Sampdoria.
Andersen joined the Italian club in the summer of 2017 from Dutch side FC Twente.
Since his move to Italy, the Danish centre back has become a key player for the Luigi Ferrera Stadium outfit.
His impressive outings for Sampdoria have attracted the interests of the aforementioned clubs.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is in search of quality signings ahead of the upcoming transfer window in the New Year.
The Portuguese tactician has £100m to spend in the transfer window.
He’s expected to strengthen the team in both the central defence and central striker positions.
The Red Devils have started the season poorly on the defensive front which explains why Mourinho is keen to strengthen the area.
