Premier League giants Manchester United are open to the idea of letting defender Eric Bailly leave the club when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The Ivorian international star has fallen out of favour with Red Devils manager and he has been linked with a move away from the club.

He has started just four of the last 17 games for Manchester United in the Premier League.

His last appearance came over a month ago during the 3-2 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Eric Bailly started the game but lasted just 19 minutes after he was replaced by Spanish international playmaker Juan Manuel Mata with his side trailing 2-0.

Mata pulled one back for the home side with a 70th minute freekick before Anthony Martial equalised for the Red Devils six minutes later.

Substitute Alexis Sanchez scored the winning goal just before the end of the game to give the Red Devils a 3-2 win.

That proved to be the catalyst in their recent impressive run of three wins and one draw from four league games.

Bailly has not played for Manchester United in the league since then.

According to ESPN via redrants, Italian giants AC Milan are interested in the 24-year-old who joined the Red Devils from Spanish side Villareal in a £30m deal two years ago.
