European Heavyweight Leapfrog Man United In Race For 27-Year-Old Star

Former European champions Bayern Munich gave reportedly moved to the top of the transfer queue for wantaway Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey ahead of the January transfer window.

The Bavarian giants are overwhelming favourites for the 27-year-old ahead of Manchester United and other interested parties.

According to a report from caughtoffside, the five-time European champions have leapfrogged Manchester United as favourites for the Arsenal midfielder.

Aaron Ramsey is on his way out of the Emirates Stadium after the North London giants withdrew their contract offer for him despite the fact that he has less than a year on his current deal with the Gunners.

The Welsh international star has already been told the reason behind the contract withdrawal decision by Arsenal director Raul Sanllehi.

His contract standoff with the club has led to various transfer rumours linking him with a transfer to other European clubs.

The former Cardiff City playmaker has been mooted as a transfer target for clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Ramsey can start to speak to foreign clubs about a potential free transfer move as from the 1st of January but interested English clubs might have to wait till the summer.

Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a £10m move for a Spanish La Liga player ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window scheduled to start in the next few weeks.

This is according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser via sportsmole.

It was revealed that the Gunners have been impressed with the performances of Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero in the Spanish top flight this season and are ready to make a move for him when the transfer window opens.

The 23-year-old centre-back has impressed a great deal for newly promoted Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid this season.

The Spaniard has a £10m release clause in his current Real Valladolid contract and he represents a cheap option for the Gunners in their quest to offset the loss of Rob Holding to injury.

Rob Holding suffered a serious knee injury during the Premier League clash with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

He sustained the injury during a collision with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and he will be out of action for around six to nine months.

Since the injury to young English defender Rob Holding, Arsenal have been linked with several centre-backs including Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.

£26.5m Arsenal Signing Reveals Reason Behind Summer Transfer

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has revealed the reason behind his summer transfer to the club.

The Uruguayan international star joined the North London club from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria in the summer after the World Cup heroics with his country.

Torreira was part of the Uruguay squad that reached the quarterfinals of this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Lucas Torreira and Uruguay crashed out of the tournament via a 2-0 loss to eventual champions France.

Arsenal and Sampdoria agreed on a transfer fee of around £26.5m in three instalments to secure his transfer.

Lucas Torreira became an Arsenal player on July 11 and he has become a key player for the Gunners since then.

What made his mind up as regards signing for Arsenal?, Lucas Torreira told the club’s website that the personal call from manager Unai Emery played a big role in him signing for the Gunners.

The Uruguayan also revealed that he had several interests from Italian top-flight clubs before the call from Arsenal came.

Lucas Torreira started the season out of the starting XI for the first five league games as Unai Emery eased him into the Arsenal team.

He made his first Premier League start in the sixth league game of the season against Everton and has retained his place on the team.

As a matter of fact, Lucas Torreira is one of the first names on the Arsenal starting XI.

North London giants Arsenal will have to fend off threats from Premier League champions Manchester City on their pursuit of highly rated Lille forward Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners have repeatedly been touted as a potential destination for the Ivorian international player but they have to see off Premier League rivals Manchester City if they are to win the race for the player.

The publication from French news outlet Infofoot via hitc claim that English top-flight champions Manchester City have joined Arsenal in the bid to prise the 23-year-old away from French Ligue 1 giants Lille.

Nicolas Pepe has been in sensational form for Lille dating back to last season.

He was a key player for Lille as they escaped relegation from the French top flight at the end of the last campaign.

His goal contributions this term have led Lille to the Champions League places on the French Ligue 1 table.

Arsenal are targeting Pepe as a replacement for the injured Danny Welbeck.

Three Lions of England international Danny Welbeck will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a serious ankle injury during the Europa League clash with Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has revealed that he had the option to join other clubs before he signed his scholarship forms at the club.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria star was not sure if the Gunners will release him or not but he eventually stayed at Arsenal having graduated from the club’s Academy.

Iwobi also confirmed that three British clubs were willing to sign him before he committed his future to the Gunners.

The Arsenal Academy graduate made the revelation in a chat with the London Evening Standard.

According to him, Scottish Premier League champions Celtic as well as the Premier League duo of Crystal Palace and Southampton were all interested in him before he signed scholarship forms with the North London giants.

Alex Iwobi has emerged as one of the most consistent players in the Arsenal setup under new manager Unai Emery.

The 47-year-old took charge of the Arsenal team in the summer after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract to replace long-serving boss Arsene Wenger.

Frenchman Wenger had earlier ended his 22-year reign at Arsenal at the end of last season.

Alex Iwobi has made 13 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions since the start of the season, scoring once and providing four assists in those games.

Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have set the asking price for one of their players ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.

As reported by the Daily Mirror, Barcelona have told Arsenal what it would take to sign exciting winger Ousmane Dembele when the transfer market reopens.

Dembele has been attracting the interests of several European clubs despite his disciplinary problems at Barcelona.

The latest one happened some days ago when the Frenchman turned up for a Barcelona training two hours late.

Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea as well as French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have all been touted as possible transfer destinations for the former Rennes forward.

They have all been told that the player will only leave the club if his €400m release clause is met.

Dembele signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2017 and big things were expected from him but the young French star has failed to hit the heights that he got to while he was at German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Real Betis defender Junior Firpo has grown to become one of the best left-backs on the Spanish La Liga scene since he broke into the first team in the last campaign.

His form has attracted the interests of several European clubs including Arsenal.

European heavyweights like Premier League champions Manchester City and Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona are also keen on a transfer for him.

Kevin Campbell talked about the new Arsenal fans’ favourite while he was a guest on Sky Sports as monitored by the Daily Star.

North London giants Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.

The petite midfielder joined the club after both clubs had agreed a fee of around £26.5m for his services with widespread reports claiming that the transfer fee would be paid in three instalments by the Gunners.

The 22-year-old was the fourth of five summer signings made by the Arsenal boss, Unai Emery.

The Spanish manager eased Lucas Torreira into the Arsenal starting XI at the start of the season after his World Cup exertions.

He was part of the Uruguay side that failed to go beyond the quarterfinals of this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
