Leon Bailey has explained that he decided to snub Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool to Bayer Leverkusen.
The winger explained that he needed to take a step at a time and will only have a switch to the Premier League at the right time. Hence, any club interested in him must wait.
Bailey noted that he remains a pro who needs a level of development and that according to him may not be possible in the big English clubs because it is not the right timing.
He noted that the big Premier League clubs should be his destination for the future because he needed to develop himself and gain the needed experience to be able to fit in.
The 21-year-old winger is proud to have said no to the Premier League elite clubs as his focus is not on a move at the moment but on learning the trade to perfection.
Meanwhile, Bailey in August signed a new deal with the German side that will have him remain at the club until 2023.
Also, the release clause of the player is expected to rise knowing that there are lots of competitors for his signature at the moment.
