Three-time European champions Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus defender Mehdi Benatia when the transfer window reopens in January.
The 31-year-old is said to be frustrated at a lack of game time with the Italian champions since the start of new season.
According to a report from renowned Italian news outlet Tuttosport via ESPN, the Red Devils have had a disastrous start to the new season defensively and are in need of reinforcements ahead of the upcoming transfer window in the New Year.
The report also claimed that the Premier League giants are keen on signing his Juventus teammates Alex Sandro in the next transfer window.
His playing teammates have been reduced at Juventus this season and that’s as a result of summer signing Leonardo Bonucci.
Bonucci sealed a sensational return to Juventus in the summer after spending just one year with rivals AC Milan whom he joined from the Old Lady in 2017.
Mehdi Benatia would be a fantastic acquisition for the Red Devils if they can pull it off when the transfer window comes around though they are expected to face big European competition for him.
Other reports claim that clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona are also interested in signing him.
