Premier League giants Arsenal could reportedly secure the transfer of highly rated Brazilian winger Malcom from Spanish champions Barcelona when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
According to the report from renowned Spanish media portal Mundo Deportivo via thefootballfreak, Arsenal are one of the several European heavyweights seeking to rescue the 21-year-old from his Barcelona nightmare.
The report further pointed out that the Gunners will need to see off North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan in their quest to sign the Barcelona player.
He has endured a frustrating few months at the Spanish champions following his controversial arrival from French Ligue 1 giants Bordeaux during the summer’s transfer window.
Malcom was on his way to Italian Serie A side AS Roma before the move was hijacked by the five-time European champions.
Barcelona paid €41m for his services in the summer and he has a release clause of €180m (£159m).
Since his move to the Nou Camp giants, Malcom has managed just 25 minutes over two substitute appearances despite the fact that Barcelona have already played 10 Spanish La Liga games.
The Brazilian player would be a fantastic addition to an Arsenal squad lacking traditional wingers.
