Former Premier League defender Danny Higginbotham has questioned why new Arsenal manager Unai Emery is prepared to let wantaway midfielder Aaron Ramsey leave the club.
Former Stoke City and Manchester United centre-back Higginbotham warned that the Spanish tactician could miss out on the peak years of the Welsh international star.
Danny Higginbotham talked about the contract standoff between Ramsey and the club while he was on a popular English TV channel Sky Sports as a pundit.
Aaron Ramsey is on his way out of the club after the Gunners hierarchy decided to withdraw their contract offer.
The club had earlier been in negotiations with his representatives and senior officials reportedly made an offer for him to secure his long-term future at the club but the player was said to have requested for more money.
The said contract offer was then withdrawn by the Gunners prompting widespread transfer rumours linking him with a free transfer move to several European clubs.
The 27-year-old has less than a year left on his current contract and has been linked with potential moves to clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich as well as the Italian duo of AC Milan and Juventus.
He’s free to speak to foreign clubs as from the New Year.
