Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman praised the impact of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira during the Premier League clash between the two English heavyweights on Saturday evening.
The ex-England international star was hugely impressed with the former Pescara star and even named him the petite midfielder his own Man of the Match (MotM) for his display in the league meeting between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
McManaman praised the Uruguayan international player while he was on commentary duty for popular English media outlet BT Sport.
The former Real Madrid playmaker has been impressed with the impact he has made since the summer.
The 22-year-old became a Gunner during the summer’s transfer window after he joined from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria in a deal reported to be around £26m.
He has been an important part of the new Arsenal team under manager Unai Emery.
Torreira started the season on the Arsenal bench after his World Cup exertions in the summer before claiming a starting berth in the team for the Gunners’ sixth league game of the season.
He has been in the team since the Gameweek 6 game with Merseyside club Everton.
Lucas Torreira was an influential figure once again for Arsenal in the 1-1 draw with the Reds.
