Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard returned to the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday but as a Derby County manager where he was defeated 3-2 by his former side in the Carabao Cup.
It was an emotional return for the legendary player who has a lot of history and memory with the club and most importantly, his attachment with the fans.
What is most delightful about his return to the West London side for Lampard is the feedback he got about team from the current Chelsea players after the game.
Having eliminated Manchester United in the previous round, The Blues were saved by own goals from Fikayo Tomori and Richard Keogh who handed an advantage to them.
Efforts by the Lampard’s team to return back to victory with two goals was made ineffective by a later goal by Cesc Fabregas who scored the last and winning goal.
However, the Chelsea legend stated that players from his former side gave him a lift noting that they showered praise on his players and the staff for their performance.
He expressed delight that he was able to prove the quality of the team adding that he deserves a draw in the game but he is not upset about the result.
