Chelsea ensured they were not disgraced by Derby County just like Manchester United as they pulled a 3-2 win in the Carabao Cup to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Blues assistant coach Gianfranco Zola described the win as a big one but noted that Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen struggled in the first half, calling on them to improve their game.
According to him, both players could not do enough with the ball despite not being too engaged. He had expected that they do more of the distribution of the ball from the back as Cesc Fabregas was being marked out.
Meanwhile, the former player praised David Luiz for coming in the second half to make a big difference in the game.
Stubborn Derby led by Chelsea former player Frank Lampard made efforts to cause an upset having done that against United in the last game but they were unable to match the strength of the Blues as the game ended in a 3-2 win.
It was a big win for Chelsea as they continue their unbeaten run this season in all competitions.
